Keep the keyboard and notes visible. Position the lamp to reduce direct conflict with the screen.
Design-led adaptive desk lamp
Light for the hour. Light for the work.
An adaptive desk lamp with a movable light sensor at your chosen work position. Selected task, measured work-surface light, and time of day guide its response—for screens, pages, and fine detail.

One desk. Different tasks.
Select the task yourself, then position the head and arm. The lamp does not recognize the task or move its own arm.

Keep the keyboard and notes visible. Position the lamp to reduce direct conflict with the screen.

Bring the light over the page and the space between your hands.

Direct the light toward drawing, making and close inspection.

Turn the head toward your face before a call, then return it to the desk afterwards.
01 / Where the light begins
High shutter speeds, high frame rates and accurate skin tones demand stable light. Film and photography reveal fluctuations that can be difficult to notice by eye.
Harlowe's four years in professional image lighting draw on AEC's 26 years of optical, electronic and precision-manufacturing experience. SOLA Desk brings those standards for light sources, drivers and sustained output to an everyday desk.
Light made for demanding cameras, brought to your daily desk.
02 / Start with good light
Desk combines your selected task with work-surface sensing and time. It does not recognize tasks or move its own arm.
Published SOLA Desk test area: 70 × 50 cm. About 27.6 × 19.7 inches.
Core working-white light measures Ra 98.4 and R9 94.0 for reading, drawing and video.
Stable output drawn from professional image lighting, with quality beyond brightness and color temperature.
A long arm and damped joints bring light to the task, then hold its position.
How the light adapts
Follow your routineA daylight mode with time-of-day light changes for your routine.
Read the light on your deskSelect screen work; move the sensor to the actual task position.
Choose the taskSelect the work you are doing. The lamp does not identify a screen, book, or face on its own.
Position the light.Move the head and arm by hand. For a video call, consider the face and camera position separately.
03 / Light through the day
1800 K is an available warm setting. Color temperature alone does not measure eye-level circadian exposure.
Start working
When a task calls for clearer visual conditions, SOLA Desk moves into a fuller working-white state.
04 / One desk, different tasks
The task is more than a brightness preset. It is where you put the light, where you measure, and what you need to see.

REAL TASK / 01
The long arm positions the head away from the screen, keeping the desk and keyboard visible while reducing direct conflict between the light and display.

REAL TASK / 02
Move the head over the page for clear, continuous reading light, without moving the base or changing your seat.

REAL TASK / 03
Drawing, models, craft and close inspection need a deliberate light position. The arm reaches across the desk to follow the work in your hands.

REAL TASK / 04
Before a meeting, turn the head toward your face to establish a clearer key-light direction. Afterward, turn it back toward the desk.

05 / Materials and making
The wider group brings 26 years of professional lighting and optics experience. Harlowe’s professional imaging-light work informs how we think about materials, color, and the task in front of a person.

AEC in-house ESL sample, report LAB2026082102, August 26, 2026. Automatic mode; light-emitting surface 40 cm (15.7 in) above the desk. Full area 70 × 50 cm; central 50 × 30 cm minimum 846 lx. Core working-white Ra 98.421 and R9 94.039 are separate optical readings, not values for every setting.

These are reported readings for the tested working-white setting. Ra/R9 and Rf/Rg describe aspects of light-source color rendition; TLCI addresses television-camera color reproduction. The values do not apply to every light setting or guarantee an identical appearance in every camera.

The 1800 K setting retains warmth while allowing objects on the desk and in the room to remain visible.
