Your task. Your position. Your own routine.
Choose by the difference you will use
Premium lamps already dim, follow daylight, and offer different modes. SOLA Desk’s case is the combination of movable task-position feedback, a personal routine, stated working-white color performance, and a form that belongs in the room.
Design lighting / Artemide to SOLA
A lamp you choose for the room. A response you choose for the day.
Artemide Tolomeo offers an articulated design for directing light by hand. SOLA Desk adds its stated task-position sensing and task-and-time response, in a brass-finished form.
Specific models, stated differences
Compare the whole choice.
Automatic dimming is already a category feature. Compare where the light is measured, the available formats, the routine, and the evidence behind the numbers.
Harlowe readings are specific in-house sample measurements; competitor values are published specifications and may be minima. Different test conditions do not establish overall superiority. Dyson also reaches 1800 K in its docked ambient format. No wider-coverage claim is made against BenQ.
Why SOLA Desk?
Choose the combination of task-position feedback, your own routine, stated working-white color performance, and a brass-finished form you want to keep at the desk. The reason to change is the combination you will use.
A reading lamp or a whole-workspace light?
Begin with the actual work area.
SOLA Desk’s sample field is 70 × 50 cm at a stated test position. That does not prove wider coverage than BenQ’s published 95 cm width at 500 lx; the dimensions and conditions are different.
For a larger desk, multiple workstations, or room lighting, compare the actual distribution and placement you need. Choose Desk for the combination you use, rather than a single larger-looking number.
When you are choosing a design lamp
Form is a reason to choose. Behavior is another.
The room deserves an object you enjoy.
For example, Flos IC Lights T1 High is a diffused, dimmable design lamp. Dimming alone is not unique to Halo. Halo offers a 480 nm cyan morning mode, a 1000 K night mode with blue/green filtering, and radar automatic on/off in forms for different room positions.
Today, Plus prototype photographs establish its form, physical controls, and different visible light states. Halo Plus’s 60 GHz radar hardware is confirmed for fine bedside presence sensing. Presence-triggered automatic on/off is confirmed by the brand. Installation guidance is model-specific.
Clear answers
Before you decide.
Is SOLA Desk an alternative to an Artemide desk lamp?
Consider SOLA Desk when choosing a design-led desk lamp for a home office or study. Artemide Tolomeo emphasizes an articulated, manually positioned form. SOLA Desk also requires manual positioning; its stated distinction combines a movable task-position light sensor, your selected task, work-surface light, and time. Compare specific models rather than assume one brand replaces every lamp.
Is Halo an alternative to a Flos or Louis Poulsen table lamp?
Halo belongs in the decorative ambient-table-lamp category: a small bedside, side table, or personal reading corner. Flos IC Lights T1 High offers diffused, dimmable light; Louis Poulsen Panthella uses diffused and reflected light. Choose by form, light distribution, controls, and placement. Halo is Ø200 × H279 mm and costs US list price: $399 USD. Morning and night modes and radar automatic on/off are confirmed by the brand.
Should I choose Halo Sound instead of a Bang & Olufsen speaker?
Start with the job: an ambient lamp with optional audio, or a dedicated speaker. Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance is presented as a living-room speaker with room-filling sound. Halo Sound has a different personal-listening brief. Equivalent sound quality, stereo, streaming, and room coverage have not been established. Compare the final audio specifications before preordering.

Work by day. Come home to different light.
Working light
The day asks for useful task light.
Select screen work. Place the sensor at the keyboard or notes.
Use & controls
You choose the task and position the lamp; the lamp guides its output from stated inputs.
Light the work in front of you, with the light already there taken into account.
Illustrative routine. No automatic cross-room coordination.
